Kid Creole, also known as the Sultan of Suave, the High Priest of Hip and the Prince of Pizazz, is scheduled to perform an exclusive intimate UK residency at Boisdale of Canary Wharf.
The band is led by August Darnell, who was born in the Bronx and is known for his larger-than-life zoot-suit style, inspired by the legendary Cab Calloway. Kid Creole & the Coconuts are famous for their potent pop-funk with a heavy twist of Latin and Caribbean flavours, which helped them top the charts all over the world.
We are excited to welcome them back for another performance that is sure to be barnstorming. The band will play an endless jukebox of ageless songs, including Stool Pigeon, Annie, I’m Not Your Daddy, and I’m A Wonderful Thing, Baby.
Don't miss out on this intimate show by Kid Creole and the Coconuts at Boisdale of Canary Wharf. Get your tickets now!
“a proper pop star, someone beamed in from somewhere rather more glittery than here”. The Quietus
“Mr August Darnell is a person we scarcely seem to deserve, an unusually conscientious and industrious writer, composer, arranger, producer, player, singer, stage manager, character, bon vivant”. NME
