‘Their warmth melts the crowd into a sea of smiling faces.’ The Express
Following a run of hugely successful shows last year, we are extremely excited to welcome the undisputed Queens Of Lovers Rock back to Boisdale Canary Wharf.
Carroll Thompson’s unmistakable voice singlehandedly laid the foundations for the Lover’s Rock movement. Mixing her melancholic melodies with laid back reggae rhythms, she ruled the airwaves with a golden run of timeless singles including I’m So Sorry and Hopelessly In Love alongside her million-selling debut LP, which was recently crowned The Greatest Lovers Rock Album Of All Time by Mojo Magazine.
Janet Kay made history when she became the first black British female to top the charts with her indelible signature song, Silly Games, before releasing a clutch of classic singles and working with an illustrious array of artists including Aswad, Sly & Robbie and Fatboy Slim.
