S.E.L is becoming the ‘sweet heart’ of the UK Soul scene and acquiring respect and love globally for maintaining the authenticity of the music genre.  

Born in North London, England, S.E.L quickly began to display a love for life and a passion for music.

Due to formidable vocals and S.E.L’s specialist knowledge, she has been highly sought after to work with the greats across all genres of music. In 2005 S.E.L began working with the UK’s very own living legend, Jazzie B and the movement that is Soul II Soul and sites working alongside Jazzie B and the team as ‘An immense education’. From Jazz, Reggae and Pop to Classical, Soul, RnB and Blues, the list of artists S.E.L has worked with reads like a who’s who of world renowned international music, Alicia keys, Omar, Debbie Harry, Caron Wheeler, Jocelyn Brown, George Nooks, Sanchez, Duncan James, Mica Paris, Carleen Anderson, Charlotte Kelly, Rose Windross, Kym Mazelle…the list goes on.

Being an integral aspect of the Uk’s most well-Known Soul collective, to date, was not enough for S.E.L. Determined to bring British soul music back to it’s grass roots, she signed her first deal to Universal Records affiliate, Cubit Records releasing her debut single ‘Necessary’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQ7EUULe5y4 )to international acclaim, announcing S.E.L to the world. From Japan, China, South Africa, France & Canada to right here at home, getting playlisted on all Major mainstream radio, ‘Track of The Week on Jazz FM’ and so much more.

 It was the summer of 2012 when the astounding UK Songbird was again announced to the world, with a number of festival performances throughout the London Olympics. This created another S.E.L buzz within the industry, It was time for another release! Given her huge fanbase, her industry support and immense knowledge on the Music industry, S.E.L decided to embark upon a self Release, ‘Daydream’. Launched with an invite only live performance at the exclusive Pizza Express Jazz club Soho, Jan 2013, the release of ‘Daydream’ has exploded her into the Worldwide Soul and Jazz Industry. So far, it has reached no4 in the Jazz Charts, received worldwide airplay on Major radio, high amount of press, as well as Offers of world-wide performances and appearances. 2013 ended with a bang for S.E.L, with the Soul2Soul national tour, which took her recognition to an entirely new level. Vanessa's voice is an experience to behold, immediately distinctive, unadulterated quality, sheer joy. 

Her live performances are spiritual and recordings timeless and her songs sublime, her voice has wooed audiences from Russia to Japan and can be heard on a tracks like '' Show me'' from her own album Shades Chillifunk 2004 which was also writing by Phil Asher ,Mike Patto Vanessa Freeman ''The Light.'' Mi-Soul is a radio station on DAB, online and on app playing Soul, R&B, House, and other genres including Hip Hop, Reggae, and DnB.

Mi-Soul was founded by Gordon Mac (formerly Kiss FM), with long-time business partner Martin Strivens.[1] Having left Colourful in June 2011, Mac launched Mi-Soul as an internet radio station in July 2012.. It commenced broadcasting on the Switch London 2 digital radio network on 27 June 2015.

Mi-Soul presenters and DJs include some of the UK's legendary names, including Lindsay Wesker, Jazzie B, Jumping Jack Frost, Brandon Block, and Dave VJ (formerly of Kiss); Femi Fem, Mastermind, Greg Edwards, and Keith Lawrence (formerly Capital Radio); George Kay, Calvin Francis, and Natty B (formerly Choice FM); Ronnie Herel, and DJ Bailey (formerly BBC Radio 1Xtra); and Mike Vitti (formerly Jazz FM). Other presenters to have appeared include the late Colin Faver and Paul Trouble Anderson.
