The Cinelli Brothers Tuesday 25 May 2021 21:00 Boisdale of Canary Wharf Restaurant

Swing by for a night of foot-stomping blues in Canary Wharf

If your acoustic sweet spot is the electric Chicago and Texas blues of the 60s and 70s and the music of the legendary Chess, Stax and Motown labels, then join the Cinelli Brothers for an evening of scintillating sounds on the Yamaha Music London stage at Boisdale of Canary Wharf on 25 May & 29 June.

“This is a really classy band made up of fabulously talented musicians with a genuine shared passion for the blues, a genre that I adore and one whose DNA is at the very heart of modern rock,” said Ranald Macdonald, founder of Boisdale.

The four-piece band was born out of a shared love for the blues by brothers Marco (guitarist and lead singer) and Alessandro (drummer) Cinelli. Two soon became four when they were joined by Enzo Strano (bass) and Tom Julian-Jones (harmonica and guitar).

Their debut album Babe Please Set your Alarm, a blend of original songs and covers such as Don Covay’s “Chain of Fools”, Willie Dixon’s “Backdoor Man” and Prince’s “Kiss”, was recorded at the Soup Studio in London and released in May 2018 on both vinyl and digital format, reaching #2 in the Independent Blues Broadcasters’ Association charts in June 2018.

The band has been featured in Blues in Britain, Blues Matters and Classic Rock, while Marco Cinelli was nominated Best Guitar Player of 2018 by Music Republic magazine. In January 2021, the Cinelli Brothers were nominated for “Blues Band of the Year” at the upcoming UK Blues Awards.

“The more I look at the quality and diversity of the bands and artists playing at Canary Wharf this year, the more I’m convinced that we are consolidating our position as one of the capital’s preeminent music venues,” said Ranald.
