Jools Holland: Intimate Evening Wednesday 19 May 2021 18:00 Boisdale of Belgravia

Britain’s most loved jazz, blues and rock pianist

Join the former Squeeze pianist, TV and radio presenter and bandleader at Boisdale of Belgravia for an intimate evening of music and conversation as Jools talks about his relationship, and lifelong love affair, with the piano while playing music from his favourite genres. After taking questions from the audience, Jools will be joined by long-time collaborators, acclaimed vocalists Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall who will accompany him on the Yamaha Music London stage at Boisdale of Belgravia to showcase his favourite music.

Since learning to play fluently at the tender age of eight, Jools has become one of the UK's most proficient jazz and blues pianists. He was a founding member of the British pop band Squeeze, formed in March 1974, in which he played keyboards until 1981 and helped the band to achieve multi-million record sales, before pursuing his solo career which included presenting the ground-breaking early 80s music show The Tube with the late Paula Yates. These days he presents the eponymous BBC Radio 2 show Jools Holland and BBC2’s Later…with Jools Holland.

Having toured extensively with his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra, his charismatic personality, impeccable taste and accessible music have made him one of the UK’s most well-respected, and well-loved, musicians. Jools was awarded an OBE in 2003 for his services to the British music industry.

“Jools is part of the Boisdale furniture, and one of the nation’s best-loved musicians,” said Boisdale founder Ranald Macdonald. “I can’t think of a better way to spend an evening of unbridled enjoyment with excellent food, amusing banter and great sounds.”
