Brit funk pioneers Light of the World return to Boisdale of Canary Wharf for a night of groove-laden soul and classic dancefloor energy.
Emerging in the late 1970s, the band became one of the true architects of the British jazz-funk and street soul movement, helping define a sound that would influence generations of artists.
The group’s legacy runs deep. When the original line-up evolved, it gave rise to influential acts including Incognito and Beggar & Co, cementing Light of the World’s place at the very heart of the UK’s soul and funk heritage.
Today the band is led by the dynamic pairing of Gee Bello (lead vocals & percussion) and renowned drummer Mel Gaynor, continuing to deliver the unmistakable groove that made them legends of the Brit funk scene.

Times & Seating
- Arrival: We recommend arriving between 6:30pm and 7:00pm.
- Show Times: Performances usually start between 8.30pm and 9.00pm. Finishing times vary depending on the show, but all performances finish no later than 11.00pm.
- Weekend Lunch: Available Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00pm, with live music from 1:00pm.
- Single Tickets: Solo ticket holders will be seated at shared tables.
