Widely regarded as pioneers of the acid jazz movement, the band have spent more than three decades shaping the sound of modern soul, funk and jazz. With 16 UK Top 40 singles and over 2.5 million albums sold worldwide, their influence on British music is undeniable. Fresh from a triumphant, sold-out performance at the Royal Albert Hall celebrating the 30th anniversary of their platinum album Brother Sister, they now bring their signature sound to the intimate Boisdale stage.

Formed in Ealing, London in 1985, The Brand New Heavies fused the spirit of 1970s funk with contemporary jazz and soul, helping define an entire era of British club culture. Their breakthrough came with the arrival of powerhouse vocalist N’Dea Davenport, whose voice propelled the band to international success and helped establish acid jazz as a global movement.
Their landmark 1994 album Brother Sister became a defining record of the decade, while projects like Heavy Rhyme Experience showcased their willingness to push boundaries, collaborating with leading hip-hop artists and expanding their sonic reach.
Today, with Angela Ricci delivering commanding lead vocals, the band continue to evolve while staying true to the irresistible grooves that made them legends. Their live shows remain a masterclass in musicianship — tight, soulful and brimming with infectious energy.
