Following a string of sold-out performances, Boisdale of Canary Wharf is delighted to welcome back the undisputed Queens of Lovers Rock, Janet Kay and Carroll Thompson, for an evening of timeless reggae, soulful melodies and pure nostalgia.

Janet Kay made history as the first British Black female artist to enter the UK Top 40 with a reggae single. Her iconic recording of "Silly Games", produced by Dennis Bovell, became a defining moment in British reggae - its soaring falsetto and hypnotic rhythm securing her place as a true pioneer of Lovers Rock.

Carroll Thompson, often hailed as the Queen of Lovers Rock, brought a new level of intimacy and emotion to the genre. Her million-selling debut album featured classics such as "I’m So Sorry" and "Hopelessly in Love", later recognised by Mojo Magazine as The Greatest Lovers Rock Album of All Time.

Together, these two legendary voices helped shape the sound of a generation. Their live performances are a masterclass in harmony, warmth and storytelling - offering a rare opportunity to experience the golden era of British reggae brought to life on stage.

Times & Seating
  • Arrival: We recommend arriving between 6:30pm and 7:00pm.
  • Show Times: Performances usually start between 8.30pm and 9.00pm. Finishing times vary depending on the show, but all performances finish no later than 11.00pm.
  • Weekend Lunch: Available Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00pm, with live music from 1:00pm.
  • Single Tickets: Solo ticket holders will be seated at shared tables.

  • Opening Hours: Tuesday - Friday: 4:00pm - late | Saturday: 12:00pm - late | Sunday: 12:00pm - 5:00pm
  • Weekend Brunch: Saturdays & Sundays from 12:00pm with DJs from 12:30pm - 3:30pm.
  • Late-Night DJs: Every Wednesday to Saturday from 7:00pm until late.
